Mites
Very little is known about the biology and ecology ofmites that cause damage to turfgrasses but they canbe an invasive pest that is difficult to control. As the name suggests, the couchgrass mite is acommon pest of couchgrass. Chemical control isdifficult as the mites often live in leaf sheaths wherepenetration of chemicals is difficult. Grass webbing mites can be found on turfgrass duringthe summer months but generally, the problems theycause are more aesthetic than actual turf damage.
